5 Important Points to Consider Regarding Templates

  1. All CCU faculty should be able to see both the Basic & Advanced templates under the Resources category in Moodle
    1. This is active based on faculty who have taught in a recent or current term
    2. If you do not see the templates available, please email the Moodle LMS Administrator.
  2. We do not recommend you copy the template into a Moodle course that is already fully populated with content, as it may override your content.
    • You may request certain elements be copied over, or you may copy elements yourself from a sandbox course with the templates loaded for you.
    • You may use either template as a starting point for building/rebuilding a new course.
  3. Templates are periodically updated to include changed URLs in the Getting Started Module, new tools added into Moodle, and additional features. Check back at any point and feel free to add in/request content be added whenever you like.

5 Important Points to Consider Regarding Templates, Cont.

4. Templates provide the following major benefits:a. Consistency & improved usability for studentsb. Increased speed and ease of development for facultyc. Demonstration of best practices in Moodle tool usage without “recreating the wheel” necessary for our faculty

5. You are welcome to modify the template to suit your needs, add to it, and remove content from your version as desired. Templates are simply provided as a resource to assist faculty members in design and layout of their Moodle courses, and in student support needs. Make them your own! Check out how other CCU colleagues have applied the templates in their Exemplary Courses.
