  • Just under 1 in 5 teachers is funded by the Measure H Parcel Tax
  • Provides Secondary students with a 7th period
  • Most of these programs would not exist in the same form or to the same extent without the parcel tax

Davis schools are funded at only 80% of the average funded district in California, but Davis is unique among regional districts in that it receives benefits from the Measure H Parcel Tax

Details of Measure to Renew Local Funding

  • Not to be a new tax, but renewal of existing Measure H Parcel Tax
  • Renewed at the current rate of $768 per year (raising approximately $11.7 million per year)
  • This measure would be in place until ended by voters

Fiscal Accountability and Local Control

  • All revenue would be spent in local schools and could not be taken away by the state

  • A citizens’ oversight committee’s annual audits would be required.

  • No funds could be used for contract management salaries
