Fair And Just Labour And Sustainability Practices
Because we believe in a farm to fork approach to sustainability, every company Heura works with must sign legal documents committing:
You can view our sustainable sourcing policy and statement here.
Ensuring a sustainable and ethical value chain and making accessible sustainable plant-based food to consumers.
Monitoring our footprint and developing our climate action plan. Our reduction target aligns to the SBTi, to ensure that our ambition meets latest climate science.
Sustainability Strategy aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals
Ensuring our raw materials are deforestation-free. Following the recent developments of science-based targets for nature, as a framework to commit to. ·
Besides these three environmental SDGs, we highlight three other SDGs to which we have an impact: SDG 8 by creating decent and inclusive work, SDG 9 with our tech innovation and SDG 17 by creating partnerships.
You can see the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals here.
In 2022, Heura overhauled the packaging for its refrigerated products with the launch of their Packaging 3.0 – comprising a 92% R-PET tray, a plastic film and an FSC-certified cardboard sleeve.
By creating the new packaging, Europe's fastest-growing plant-based meat company has achieved:
- 75% less renewable energy used
- 50% less use of fossil fuels
- 44% less non-renewable energy used
- 40% less emissions of polluting gasses used
- 14% less water consumption
Full impact results of the packaging can be found here.
This is Heura’s fifth iteration of its packaging. As new technology and resources become available, Heura will continue its mission of offering the most sustainable options.
