Student Expectations

  • AVID class
    • Maintain open and honest communication with AVID elective teacher
    • Be an active and attentive participant
    • Maintain AVID binder and WRMS planner per instructor directions
    • Come prepared to student groups and tutorials with tutorial request forms complete, all class notes, texts, handouts, and any other necessary materials.
    • Participate in class activities such as field trips, community service

To remain eligible for the AVID program:

  1. Maintain a GPA of 2.5.
  2. Maintain consistent school attendance and positive behavior.
  3. Maintain a positive and supportive attitude toward WRMS staff and peers.

Next Steps

  • Students fill out and turn in application by March 19.
  • Students sign up for the AVID elective during course selection Mar 12-March 19
  • Students selected to move on in the application process will be interviewed April 16.
  • We will select the AVID students. (Students will be notified by the end of April)
  • We currently have 2 sections of AVID with approximately 20 students each.
