HIRING PROCESS ANALYTICS

2 of 21

INTRODUCTION

  • The hiring process is a critical aspect of a company's operations, as it enables multinational corporations (MNCs) to gain insights into key trends related to recruitment.
  • These trends include factors such as the number of interviews and rejections, types of job roles available, and vacancies that need to be filled.
  • It is crucial for companies to analyze these trends before hiring new employees or individuals, in order to make informed decisions and ensure a successful hiring process.

APPROACH

  • To begin with data analysis, it's essential to examine and understand the different columns present in the data provided. This will help in identifying the variables, their types, and their significance in the data analysis process.
  • By examining the data, I identified the variables and their types, such as continuous or categorical. It also helped me understand the relationships between different variables and their impact on the overall data analysis.
  • Furthermore, by exploring the data, I identified missing values, outliers, or anomalies, which can significantly impact the analysis results.

Software and Tools Used

  • Microsoft Excel
    • Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet software developed by Microsoft that allows users to organize, analyze, and manipulate data in a tabular format. It provides a range of features for creating spreadsheets, calculating formulas, and generating charts and graphs to visualize data.
    • Some of the key features of Excel include:
      1. Cell-based calculation: Users can enter data into individual cells, and Excel can calculate formulas based on that data.
      2. Formatting options: Users can format the cells and data in a variety of ways, including changing the font, color, size, and alignment.
      3. Charts and graphs: Excel allows users to create charts and graphs to visually represent the data.

Analysis

  • Hiring: Process of intaking of people into an organization for different kinds of positions.Task: How many males and females are Hired ?
  • Insights:
    • There are two ways you can count the number of males and females in Excel. One way is to use a pivot table, which is a powerful tool that allows you to quickly summarize and analyze data.
    • The other way is to use the COUNTIFS formula, which allows you to count the number of cells that meet certain criteria. Both methods can be effective for counting and analyzing data in Excel.

  • Average Salary: Adding all the salaries for a select group of employees and then dividing the sum by the number of employees in the group.Task: What is the average salary offered in this company ?
  • Insights:
    • There are two ways to calculate the average salary in Excel. The first method involves using a pivot table, which is a feature that enables you to summarize and analyze large amounts of data.
    • The second method involves using the SUMIFS and COUNTIFS formulas, which allows you to sum up and count cells that meet specific criteria. Both of these methods can be useful for calculating the average salary in Excel.

  • Class Intervals: The class interval is the difference between the upper class limit and the lower class limit.Task: Draw the class intervals for salary in the company ?
  • Insights:
    • "Class intervals" refers to the range between the upper class limit and lower class limit of a data set. To create bins of the same size, you can divide the range of the data into equal intervals or bins, with each bin having the same width or size.
    • This is often done in statistical analysis to group data into more manageable and meaningful categories.

  • Charts and Plots: This is one of the most important part of analysis to visualize the data.Task: Draw Pie Chart / Bar Graph ( or any other graph ) to show proportion of people working different department ?
  • Insights:
    • Created a bar chart to represent the salaries of employees in various departments.
    • The chart likely shows the salary ranges or averages for each department, and can be useful for comparing salaries across different departments in the organization.

  • Charts: Use different charts and graphs to perform the task representing the data.Task: Represent different post tiers using chart/graph?
  • Insights:
    • Created both bar and pie charts to represent post tier data.
    • In the pie chart, added a slicer, which allows to filter data and see different subsets of the data based on specific criteria.
    • This can be useful for exploring and analyzing data in more detail.
