I wasn’t very satisfied with how my grades turned out. However, I will try to focus on my weak points and enhance my strength points. I know that the time of the exam was definitely my number one problem so I will try to work on this point more. I will also try to practice more questions before the exam.

  • Keep clear records of how you think you are performing the various skills that you are learning e.g. communication skills, taking a blood pressure, etc.

  • FINAL EXAM REFLECTING PIECE
  • The exams were undoubtedly an astounding method to ensure that all of the crucial aspects of the semester’s lectures were well studied. But I think the time of essay exam wasn’t enough for solving all the questions . The exams went through all the lectures perfectly .
  • Certainly, I will try better in the future exams to score the maximum in all exams and finish at a shorter time period in order to enhance my revision time

Semester One result: 448 B- GPA: 2.67

Reflective Essay

During the fall semester of 2022-23, I performed averagely. I am somewhat proud of my results, given my previous results. I did try though I didn’t try my best. I hope to try my best in the future to achieve my dreams. Although I’m not sure what those are anymore.

I think in person lectures definitely helped me pass this time. I also think I just took the semester more seriously and pushed past my laziness and left all my home problems at home. I also wasn’t quite as nihilistic as I was last year. I hope that will improve as well and I’ll be more hopeful and eager to put in the work.

That said I’m feeling pretty optimistic about the future!

Action Plan

In the future, I will attend more lectures to get into routine. I hope to do more online quizzes on the moodle, if my internet connection allows it. I also intend to read the lectures before and study the after the lecture before I forget. Moreover, I intend to dedicate more hours to studying and not stuff at home.

Teaching and Training

  • What learning strategies have you adopted?
  • Describe your experience as an “independent learner” Are you finding it easier or more difficult than you expected?
  • Have you come across a teaching style that you liked and you found effective? Alternatively, are there teaching styles that you wish to avoid and why?
  • What can you learn from the way in which your colleagues, tutors, facilitators approach teaching and learning?

30 of 34

Appraising and Assessing

  • You will all have the opportunity to appraise and evaluate your own progress, that of your peers and your tutors.

  • Evaluating your progress:

  • Records of your meetings with PBL tutors
  • Records of your meetings with PPD tutors
  • Results of assessments;
  • assessment results together with feedback

31 of 34

Probity

  • Think about the meaning of the word “probity” and its implications regarding your own behaviour.

Some examples:

  • You should think about the concept of “conflict of interest”

  • consider professional behavior, with regard to colleagues as well as patients; for example your conduct in your PBL groups.

  • You must also consider issues such as plagiarism in any written work that you produce.

32 of 34

  • Illness in doctors is a real problem and it is your professional duty to take responsibility for your own health and welfare.
