WHEN PARKER SOLAR PROBE LAUNCH?

  • Launch in 2018 to observe the outer corona of the sun.
  • In 2025, Parker Solar Probe will travel at the closest distance at the fast of 690,000km.

WHY PARKER SOLAR PROBE IS BUILT?

  • Trace the flow of energy and understand the heating of the solar corona
  • Explore what accelerates the solar wind
  • Provides a statistical survey of the outer corona.

HOW PARKER SOLAR PROBE WORKS?

Use gravitational force of Venus

Fly by Venus seven times to gradually shrinks its orbit around the sun

RECORD OF PAST TIME PARKER SOLAR PROBE

    • reached 42.78million km
    • speed of 248228km/h

Oct 29 2018

    • Reached 18.6million km
    • Speed of 393044km/h

Feb 2020

    • Reached 10.4million km

Apr 2021

    • Reached 8.5 million km
    • Speed of 586000km/h (8 seconds to go from Miri to KL)

Nov 2021

24 times visits and there was still 11 more times to go get closer to the sun everytime with the help of venus

HISTORY

12 August 2018

Parker Solar Probe was launched. . The spacecraft performed its first scheduled trajectory correction on 20 August 2018

9 September 2018

the two WISPR telescopic cameras performed a successful first-light test.

Second flyby

the period shortens to 130 days.

Third flyby

it time shorten to112,5 days

Fourth flyby

it shortening its period to about 102 days.

Fifth flyby

period is shortened to about 96

Sixth encounter

It brings it’s period down to 92 days

Seventhh encounter

it decreasing its period to 88 or 89 days

The Heat Shield

Parker solar probe is equipped with a white shield that reflects heat off the front and keeps things cool in the back.

It’s smart

It has autonomy software that will keep its instruments safe and cool behind the heat shield.

IR sensor that can adjust the shield direction so that the shield can always face to the sun.

Have cooling system that circulate water to keep the solar cells from overheating

Why Parker Solar Probe won’t melt?
