Introduction

  • In this presentation we will address the various extracurricular activities offered at our school. These activities are optional and open to the entire school community. Over the years, the choice has been increasing, allowing each one of us to choose the activity that best suits us. One of the school's goals is to keep us active and reduce our screen time, increasing our self-esteem, social development and social skills.

Living science club

  • The club results from projects developed in preschool and 1st cycle education and from Open Laboratories. Currently, it seeks to involve all years of schooling and the community in general. This project includes the “Arbutos do Demo” Botanical Park, which has natural riches. This aims to give students general access to scientific practices, promoting the experimental teaching of science.
  • The teachers who develop this activity are teacher Beato and teacher Conde.

Eco-Schools Program

  • This program can be implemented at all levels of education, from kindergarten to higher education.
  • It aims to encourage actions, recognize and reward the work developed by the school in improving its environmental performance, managing the school space and raising community awareness.
  • To increase knowledge and integrate environmental education, we have two teachers at the school who direct this project: teacher Beato and teacher Conde.

GAP: pedagogical support office�Student Support Office

  • This support is given at defined times at the beginning of the year where students can find help for any type of subject depending on the teacher who remains available at this time.
  • The Student Support Office is a broad and articulated service, aimed mainly at students, with the main objective of contributing to their harmonious development in the individual, family, school and social dimensions.
  • The Student Support Office must regulate its activities in a discreet manner, which is why it does not have a specific room or office, and can be used in any space of the educational facilities.
  • This office can act, for example, in psychological support, in school meals, in clothing support, in the allocation of school supplies.

School Mediation Service�SPEECH THERAPY�

  • This service is available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays for students, parents, families and teachers. Here they can talk, expose a specific situation or problem.
  • One of the main objectives is to try to resolve or avoid conflicts by promoting the well-being of students and the community in general, as well as prevent abandonment, absenteeism, failure and indiscipline.

  • Students signaled by a speech-related problem can take advantage of speech therapy consultations within our group.

EMAEI: Multidisciplinary Team to Support Inclusive Education�

  • EMAEI's objective is to recognize the added value that is the diversity of the School's students, finding ways to deal with this difference, adapting the teaching processes to the individual characteristics and conditions of each student. All the means available to the School are used for everyone to learn and participate in the life of the educational community.

Health Promoting School Program�

  • A structured and systematic plan is implemented at the school to promote health, well-being and the development of social capital for all students and teaching and non-teaching staff.
  • This action is characterized by the participation of the whole school in projects focused on health. With a greater concern with food, in addition to the menus being defined by a nutritionist, the school is also concerned with other factors such as physical exercise and mental health.
  • For some years now, there has been a considerable effort by the group to make the school spaces more attractive for both leisure and physical activity.

Learning Support Center (CAA)�Resident artist

  • This support, with teacher Rosa as responsible, aims to support the inclusion of all students, promote and support access to training as well as social participation and independent living.

  • Teacher Ana Morgado is our Resident Artist. The Resident Artist Plan promotes the artist's travel and regular contact with the school, in order to introduce artistic processes and practices into the curriculum.

Psychologists and Counseling Services (SPO)�

  • The psychologists and guidance services work at different levels of education and teaching with the main objective of promoting the integral development of the student in the school context.

Volleyball

  • There are 3 levels of volleyball:
  • Group B under-13 is a mixed team  (2009-2010) and the schedule is Tuesday, from 4:40 pm to 5:30 pm and Wednesday, from 2:40 pm to 4:20 pm; with the teacher Carlos Ferreira.
  • Initiated under-15, girls' team (2007-2008), and the schedule is Wednesday, from 3:30 pm to 5:20 pm and Thursday, from 4:20 pm to 5:20 pm, with the teacher Carlos Ferreira.
  • Juvenile under-18, girls' team (2004-2006), and the schedule is Monday, Tuesday and Friday, from 4:40 pm to 5:30 pm, with the teacher Rui Ferreira.

Table tennis

  • Table tennis is a sport for all age groups, it can be made up of mixed teams and the schedule is Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 4:40 pm to 5:30 pm with the teacher Manuel António Vieira.

Rhythmic and expressive activities

  • Rhythmic and expressive activities is a sport for all age groups, where the teams are mixed,and the schedule is Monday, from 4:40 pm to 5:30 pm and Wednesday, from 2:40 pm to 4:20 pm, with the teacher Liliana Alves.

Futsal

  • Sub-13, men's team, 2009-2010, and the schedule is Wednesday, from 2:40 pm to 4:20 pm and Thursday, from 4:40 pm to 5:30 pm, with the teacher Carlos Santos.

BOCCIA

  • Boccia is a sport for all ages, it can be made up of mixed teams, and the schedule is Tuesday, from 11 am to 11:50 am and Wednesday, from 1:45 pm to 2:35 pm and Friday, from 11 am to 11:50 am, with the teacher Carlos Santos.

Swimming

  • Swimming is a sport for all ages, that is a mixed group, and the schedule is Wednesday, from 2:40 pm to 5:10 pm, with the teacher António Ruela.
  • Swimming adapted for people with some type of disability, mixed group, and the schedule is Wednesday time, from 2:40 pm to 5:10 pm, with the teacher Manuel António Vieira.

School sport on wheels and Outdoor multi-activities

  • Outdoor multi-activities is a mixed sport, (2005-2006), and the schedule is Wednesday, from 2:40 pm to 5:10 pm, with the teacher António Carvalho.
  • School sport on wheels (BIKE) is a mixed sport, and the schedule is Tuesday, from 4:40 pm to 5:30 pm and Wednesday, from 2:40 pm to 4:20 pm, with the teacher Eduardo Ferreira.

Robotics club and Arts Club

  • Robotics Club is a club for all ages, and the schedule is on Thursdays, from 4:40 pm to 5:30 pm with teacher Jorge Fernandes.
  • Arts Club is a club for all ages, and the schedule is Tuesday from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm, with teacher Orlando.

Student association

  • This association is managed by students from our school. These plans organize various activities throughout the year, celebrating important days, such as: Christmas Party, Week of Affections, Women's Day, Freedom Day, sporting activity tournaments.

CONCLUSION

  • In addition to these activities, the school provides us, together with other entities (Municipality, CLDS 4G and the Parents' Association) events throughout the school year, such as workshops, plays, Cultural Week and «Feira dos Sabores». The last celebration will be the Parents Day Party on June 4th.
