If there is no speaking in the video (ASL) select the Add New Subtitles or CC button

Select ‘Transcribe and auto-sync’ so that you can add your own Closed Captioning

This will especially be important for students in ASL classes as there is no audio in your clips

As the video plays, watch/listen.

When you have a decent amount start typing the information in the box.

The video will stop as you are adding text.

If you notice you made a mistake, click in the box and make the change.

If you want to delete the box all together hit the x.

You can add a box by selecting + box

You have the ability to adjust the time with which the closed caption shows up by hovering over the text boxes below and dragging the blue bars

When done, hit the Publish Button.

NOTE: YouTube will save your work - only hit Publish when you are truly done with the project

YouTube does have the feature where you can have it auto populate closed caption with your video.

HOWEVER - know that it will need some editing!
