JUNIOR COURSE SELECTION

Graduation Requirements

• 4 credits English
• 4 credits math—you must have math in your senior year!
• 3 credits science-Bio, Chem/Physics/Anatomy, 3^rd science
• 3 credits social studies—US, World, Civics/Economics
• 1 credit visual, performing, applied art
• ½ credit health
• ½ credit lifetime, wellness & fitness
• ½ credit Personal Finance
• 2 credits same world language
• 3 ½ remaining credits in electives

English Language Arts

• Juniors need to register for at least 1 credit of English

ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY

This course is recommended for juniors and seniors

We take a look at our body systems and how they work

There will be some dissection included in order to compare our body systems to those that closely resemble us.

Prerequisite: Grade of B or better in biology

Great class for your third science credit, if you are interested in the way our bodies work, or thinking about a career in healthcare.

World Language

• 2 credits of the same world language is required
• World Languages taught at LHS:
• Spanish
• French
• Mandarin Chinese
• Other languages may be available online.
• Take a test to get credit if you are already bilingual!
• See your counselor for help making sure this requirement works with your 4-year plan!

Mandarin is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world. By understanding this language, you can communicate with one-third of the world's population.

Knowing Mandarin Chinese will open many doors

DECA: It’s "competitive business," where you can compete in role-play events and projects at the district, state and international levels. - Right now we have 3 individuals and 4 teams going to state competition! Competition isn’t required, we will be running and marketing the school store and much more!

These courses also meet

the Michigan Merit Curriculum Senior-Year Math-Related Course requirement.

Things to Consider w/ CTE

• Consider the following before you sign up for any CTE course:
• You must have good attendance.
• You must be able work in groups and with students from other school districts.
• There may be additional fees for materials.
• You may need to self-transport.
• You must fill out the application and get approved.
• 2^nd year students need teacher approval on the form.

• Please have you course sheet completely filled out BEFORE your scheduled meeting time.

• Choose Alternates, or you may end up with a class you didn't pick and/or don't enjoy.

• Get Parent and Teacher Signatures or you may not be able to select the classes you have picked.
