All Moons TA Rules

Breaks are now allowed in All Moons runs, as of June 29, 2021! Here are the rules:

• The run will begin with one allowed break and fifteen minutes of breaks in your "pool".
• A "break" is any pause in the gameplay(starting at home menu) that will not be reflected in the final run time.
• These can only occur during in-game cutscenes, such as moon grab animations or painting travel.
• Breaks should be taken on the "Date and Time" screen, as you see in the top right corner.
• This prevents seeds from growing during your time away, which is against the current rules.
• After each subsequent 4 hours, you are given one additional break and fifteen more minutes.
• Example: At the 7hr mark, you can have taken up to two breaks totalling 30m.
• Example: At the 10hr mark, you can have taken up to three breaks totalling 45m.
• Breaks can be saved for later (taking first break at 5hr mark, second at 8hr mark, etc.)
• Break time can be saved for later (10m break at 3hr mark, 20m break at 5hr mark)
• Break time cannot be "credited" towards future breaks. (i.e. 20m break at the 3hr mark)
• All runs with breaks must be submitted to speedrun.com as "TA" runs, with the break timestamps in the run description. If runs are not submitted correctly, verifiers may miss a break and add it to the total time.

DSTA Notes

This new route involves the use of Daylight Savings Time Abuse to obtain three seed moons in Mushroom 1 early. NOTE: DSTA saves less than five seconds, but it's extremely lenient.

A rough estimate of when you'll get them can be found by using your old route Mushroom 1 exit and subtracting a minute or two. The good news is, the window is approximately 13 minutes, as the clock needs to turn between the third seed being planted and the time you plant the fourth seed. So, the clock might be set to turn approximately 7 minutes before you anticipate leaving Mushroom, meaning you can be ~5 minutes ahead or ~8 behind and still get there in time.

If you miss DSTA or choose not to go for it, you can skip them and don't need to change the time. Instead, moon dump on one of the warps to the Odyssey in Moon Kingdom. The reason for this is the doctor outfit requiring 240 banked moons, and the seed moons are slightly faster than an additional moon dump. But since the route is so exact, if you miss even one moon you'll need to do this extra moon dump.
