Direct water use
not using water to defrost food
turning off water while brushing your teeth
taking a shower instated of a bath
dropping your used tissues into the trash instead of flushing down the toilet
not letting your water run while having a shower and you wait for hot water, bring a bucket and collect it
not letting the faucet run while cleaning fruit and vegetables, rinse them in a bowl
putting a bucket under the dripping faucet and water the flowers with this water
washing our clothes less frequently, only when necessary
turning on the dishwasher only when it’s full
We tried to reduce our waterfootprint by reducing
Indirect water use
re-using towels at home or on vacation
skipping the meat in your meal one day a week
consuming more local products
not throwing away any food - buy only those that you can eat
switching to a morning cup of tea instead of coffee. Making tea takes less water that making coffee
trying to cut down on sugar and sweets in general, it takes a lot of water to produce it
putting less sugar in the tea
TOGETHER AS A CLASS WE SAVED ABOUT 4500 LITRES OF WATER!! AMAZING!
We used the project worksheets and WAKELET to present our results.
