Key Feature – Demand Control Ventilation
Only supply ventilation when occupants need it and want it
Did you know: Demand control ventilation practices driven by sensor data save 10-20% of building HVAC energy use1

Occupancy & CO2 Control of Variable Air Volume (VAV)
Results
Measuring occupancy levels results in a quicker response to change than waiting for a rise in CO2, providing the best possible ventilation rates.
As the room empties and CO2 levels fall, VAV will modulate to minimum flow.
The AHU continuously tracks demand from all the system VAV boxes modulating fan speeds to maintain pressure levels in the supply and extract ducts.

1
AHU provides pre treated air to VAV box and the damper varies air flow to room diffuser
VAV damper is controlled direct via the built in actuator in the RP-V Advanced

Wall sensor provides temp & CO2 data to RP-V
Using data from sensors and room occupancy design, VAV setpoint is scheduled between min-max flow
As CO2 levels change, VAV box setpoint is rescheduled to meet the maximum CO2 requirements
Ceiling mounted Multi Sensor or Insight-Sensor, provides occupancy count data

Occupancy & CO2 Control of Fan Coil Unit (FCU)
Results
Varying occupancy levels will result in a quicker response to change than waiting for a rise in CO2, always providing the best possible ventilation rates.
As the room empties, subject to the CO2 levels also falling to an acceptable level, the FCU fan speed will modulate to low speed.

FCU draws air in, filtering, heating or cooling air to the room, achieving desired room setpoint

Results
Varying occupancy levels results in quicker response to change than waiting for a rise in CO2, always providing the best possible ventilation. As the room empties and CO2 levels fall, VAV will modulate to minimum flow.
At all times the air handling unit will track the demand from all the system VAV boxes modulating fan speeds to maintain pressure levels in the supply and extract ducts.
