Anxiety is not dangerous
Although anxiety feels uncomfortable, it is temporary and will eventually decrease. The sensations we experience in an anxious situation are designed to alert and activate us.
Anxiety is adaptive
Anxiety helps us prepare for real danger, such as crossing a busy street. It can also help us perform at our best, and motivate us to study for an exam or practice for a big game
Anxiety is part of life
Trying to eliminate anxiety all together is almost impossible,
it’s your body natural response
Anxiety can become a problem
Small doses of anxiety in certain situations are useful. However, if your anxiety becomes overwhelming talk to a trusted adult!
Anxiety is normal. Everyone experiences anxiety from time to time. It alerts us to threats, protects us from danger and helps us reach important goals.
Fight, Flight, Freeze Response
The fight-flight-freeze response is your body’s natural reaction to danger. It’s a type of stress response that helps you react to perceived threats, like an oncoming car or growling dog.
It is an involuntary reaction that hormonal and physiological changes. These changes allow you to act quickly so you can protect yourself. It’s a survival instinct that our ancient ancestors developed many years ago.
Fight - Take action to eliminate the danger
Flight - which involves escaping the danger
Freeze - which involves becoming immobile

Anxiety and Test Taking
Test anxiety is normal!
It is natural to feel worried about being prepared for and doing well on a test.
Having the mindset that says, “I’ve got this!” and taking steps to prepare can go a long way in reducing test anxiety.
