What is the PTO?

The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a parent lead board of volunteers, consisting of 5 people.

What We Do

Provide staff support.
Provide student support.
Provide building support.
Hospitality.
Community service projects.
Non fundraising events.
Organize and run fundraising events

Staff support includes buying extra items for the teachers class rooms. Supplementing curriculum i.e. skating program. Building support, i.e. outside classroom, outside shed, speaker system. Retirement gifts from PTO

Student support includes pocket talks for ELA students, IEP kids with purchasing flexible seating, fidgets and sensory items.

Hospitality – team who provides the staff meals throughout the year.

Community service projects includes; adopt a family, blankets for the animal shelter, birthday bags for the food pantry and snack bags for food scarcity kids.

Non fundraising events; Popsicles with the PTO, Back to school ice cream social, Leeds Farm, Family Skate Night, Movie Night, Read-a-thon, Super Games.

Fundraising Events

Mumkins – Mumkins & Candle Sale.

2025 goal $5000 - raised $4,509.50 missed goal.

Walk-A-Thon – Family and community event.

2025 goal $5000 – raised $5102.34.

Winter Flower Sale – Wreaths, poinsettias, greenery, candles & more.

2025 goal $2000 – raised $1077.50 missed goal

Spring Flower Sale – Hanging baskets, herbs, annuals, fruit & vegetable baskets.

2025 goal $4200 – raised $4766.90

Mumkins – Mumkins and Candle sale which is run in August & September. A brochure is sent home with your student with a unique code to scan and order. Collection is 21^st September 2025 between 1-3pm

Walk-a-thon – Family event where you walk along the bike trail behind the school. There are fun stations along the way. Each kid gets a map, which gets stamped at each station and ends with getting a prize. Event includes sponsors and community groups. Doughnuts and hot chocolate for sale. Other activities include time with the teacher auction and a 50/50 raffle.

Winter Flower Sale – Wreaths, poinsettias, greenery, candles and more for sale.

Spring Flower Sale – Hanging baskets, herbs, annuals, fruit and vegetable baskets.

Dinner night out – multiple events throughout the year at Dublin restaurants. The restaurants give a certain percentage of their sales back to the PTO. Some upcoming events include 16^th September 2025 – City BBQ

Silent Auction – Online bidding on donated items

Springtacular – Carnival – includes raffle, activities & games.

2025/2026 goal $8500 – raised $8926.78

Dinner Night Out – Local Restaurants

2025/2026 raised $674.48 ( lowest participation)

Popsicles with the PTO – Walk through day.
Leeds Farm - 10 October 2026. 6-8pm.
Winter Service Projects.
Read a Thon – Bingo card sent home to encourage reading over winter break with a prize reward for completing.
Family Skate Night – 23rd January 2027.
Family Game Night – 5th February 2027. 6-9pm.
Super Games – May 2026 – All day event.

Popsicles with the PTO – PTO provides and gives out popsicles to students and kids on the school walk through day.

Ice cream social – Local ice cream van comes to the school. Held outside SCE during the first week of school.

Leeds Farm – 11^th October 2025. 6-8pm – Private time at Leeds Farm with reduced ticket prices. Full of activities, hayride, zip line, tubing slide and animals in the barn… more

Winter service projects – includes adopt a family, birthday bags, kids food scarcity snack bags, blankets for the animal shelter.

Family Skate Night – North Chiller. Families get to ice skate for 2 hours. Private rink.

Family Game Night – Bingo night in the cafeteria and gym of SCE. Snack bar and pizza ordering. Prizes are gift baskets.

Super Games – May 2025 – All day event full of inflatables and game.
