When he tricked us into getting a new sub and got the principal involved. I do not like subs at all and have terrible experience with them so I was very upset when he said there was a sub coming. Yet when he surprised us and said it is a lie I felt bad that I didn’t actually speak out my thoughts.

7. What was the craziest thing Mr. P has done this year, in your opinion?

8. What student made you want to come to class?

No on in particular.

9. What student from your class should future students track down and put in the Hall of Fame? Why?

Sophia!! She has done so much for our class and always put in her best effort. She was a very thoughtful/critical thinker. Not only was she very knowledgeable of history and politics but also technology and she is an overall good person with good intentions and a good personality.

10. What’s your favorite Mr. P story?

I absolutely loved the story about Mr. P’s wife's grandparents and how they met.

11. What was unique about any particular P-Villian or the P-Villians of 2017-18?

Justin was very unique...he was always very loud and had great speaking/communication skills. He always finished the exams VERY VERY VERY fast. He was also humorous and brought the class to life with his small side comments and participation. (He always had the most participation points and I know this because I was AoDOI).

12. What is unique about being alive in 2017-18?

PHONES...Beware of these shadows on the walls. Look up from your phone, go outside, and run around or swim/ride a bike. Explore and get familiar with the place you live in, not some fake virtual reality world.

More and more people are falling victim to this thing called “depression”. I’ve been through that phase a couple times now. And because of this depression I have been suicidal/had many suicidal thoughts. But I’ve learned that just by sitting outside, on the deck in my backyard listening to the birds and watching the leaves blow in the wind, my problems just faded little by little. And when I looked up at the sky, I thought to myself, “I’m just a little speck in this whole world, this solar system, galaxy, and universe. My problems don’t really matter and I should just go on and try my best even if it doesn’t work out in the end.

13. What should future students make sure they do while in P-Ville?

Make sure you pay attention and don’t sleep in class, do all your homework assignments /packets because they’re basically just easy points and they aren’t even that hard to do. Participation is a big part of this class whether it’s raising your hand to answer a question, ask a question, P-Olympics, and jobs. Have fun and enjoy the class.

14. What advice can you offer to future P-Ville members?

What is stated in #13.

PHILOSOPHER QUEEN: MIWA MAYEMURA

1. What was your role in P-Ville? Nickname? What does Mr. P call you? What did the class usually call you?

My role in P-Ville was sixth period’s ta, or teacher’s assistant. Mr. P usually just called me by my first name, Miwa, or would say “philosopher queen” and I'd look up and he would be pointing at me.

2. What are a few words (adjectives) that describe you in P-Ville?

A few words that can pretty much describe me in P-Ville is quiet, intelligent, and a listener.

3. What is something unique about yourself?

Something unique about myself is that I’m 5”0 and probably haven’t grown a single inch throughout all of high school.

4. What is your favorite book & film?

My favorite book is either The Book Thief or The Great Gatsby. As for my favorite film, do Disney movies count? Just kidding (not really), my favorite movie is About Time.

5. What was your most memorable moment in P-Ville as a sophomore?

As a sophomore, my most memorable moment in P-Ville was the East Board Lesson. The lesson helped shape and grow my friendship with my now bestfriend, Mary.

MORE ABOUT MIWA

6. What was your most memorable moment in P-Ville as a TA?

My most memorable moment in P-Ville as a TA was being able to see the kids super engaged with the Man Out On Hawthorne lesson.

7. What is the biggest difference between being Mr P’s class as a sophomore and a senior?

A lot can and did happen in the two years between sophomore and senior year. I think the biggest difference for me was actually being able to grasp and understand everything that is currently going on in the world. Also, now as a senior, I’m starting to take all of Mr. P’s life lessons to heart because the older you get, the more pertinent his life lessons and advice are to your life.

8. What was your favorite lesson to rewatch?

My favorite lesson to rewatch, or rather be engaged in, was the A-bomb debate.

9. What is unique about being alive in 2017-18?

The most unique thing about being alive in 2017-2018 as a seventeen year old is being able to see and hear some students’ voices (kids our age and even younger) and their opinions on important and extremely relevant issues going on in the world today, such as gun control, women’s rights, etc. The future seems to be in good hands with these students who are paving the way for a safer and more tolerant world.

10. What’s the most important thing you’ve learned throughout high school?

The most important thing I’ve learned throughout high school is that there is always time to pause and enjoy life, along with the people/things that make you happy. Another really important thing that I learned is that life is too short to tolerate stuff that doesn’t make you happy.

11. What should future students make sure they do while in P-Ville?

Take quality notes!!! I still have all of my notes/packets from P’s class when I was a sophomore and it’s honestly interesting to look back at them. Be engaged in the class and participate, you’re in there for an hour.. might as well make it count. Also, always make time for period 7 and talk to Mr. P, you definitely won’t regret it.

12. What advice can you offer to future P-Ville members?

It’s really important to always be aware and question the purpose and relevance of everything around you in all your surroundings, whether it be in or out of school. Also, in P’s class, make sure you work hard!! What you put into P’s class, and in life, is what you get out of it.

  • Andrea Fernandez Cruz (Assistant Speaker)
  • Emily Cho
  • Stephanie Bae (DOD)

  • *Lost members// Kaelyn Hutton (Speaker)
  • Joel Trinidad

65 of 92

FALL TERM: How was your first SUPREME COUNCIL experience?

Justin

Andrea: This experience will definitely be up there in my high school memories for being ever so memorable. Being part of the SC (Student Council) was like a constant reminder of how important responsibility can be and what it’s like to have some type of power over people. It opened my perspective on how to do things and taught me very useful tricks I will forsure use in the future. I’m thankful I had the opportunity of being part of the council (even if I only served for one term). Some advice that I wish I knew before being in SC is to never be afraid. Whether it’s to start an event or share an idea. Don’t restrict yourself from doing things just because it will look like your trying too hard. In fact, there were many times that I thought that I shouldn’t do an event because the other students will think little of me, yet ‘till this day I regret not doing anything, not making class time better than it could have been, and not participating and sharing my opinion. There will always be confusion in the beginning of SC, but don’t worry you end up figuring it out.:)

Emily: I thought I could do a good job as a student council member, make up contests, cinema, and etc. I ended up doing nothing, I went to all the meetings, try to talk to all of the classmates and etc. I didn't do much. You should look at archives to get some ideas for future events for Pville, try to really be part of Pville, it was a lot of fun. This class is pretty unique you won't really have a class that'll do something like this. I mainly wanted to participate because of that reason, but I ended up doing nothing. So you should learn from my mistake and do something!!!!!!

Stephanie: I was really confused at first, being both DOD and a Supreme Council Member. First of all, I didn’t have a clue on what we were supposed to do at the meetings, and everyone seemed to get it, so I felt out of place. But I adjusted, and it ended up being a great experience and motivated me in going for the winter and spring term.

WINTER TERM : What was the most memorable moment?

Clarenz: The most memorable was actually being chosen to be in it. Don’t be part of the supreme council because Wednesday lunch meetings suck.

Justin: [have not filled it out yet]

Semaj: [have not filled it out yet]

Sophia: The most memorable? I think when that design contest was held. And the many missed Wednesday lunch periods.

Stephanie: I’m not sure if this was in Winter term, but the most memorable moment was when our period would constantly be on the verge of going bankrupt and have to roll dices, until we finally went bankrupt.

SPRING TERM: Based on your experience, would you recommend SUPREME COUNCIL why or why not ? *People from left to right

?

Maria: [have not filled it out yet]

Sophia: Yes. Only if you can handle the workload. It’s a wonderful learning experience, you learn to coexist with others and find a balance between p-ville and the rest of highschool. It taught be quite a bit about managing and being a leader, that’s for sure.

Justin:[have not filled it out yet]

Shravani: I would and wouldn't recommend it. It is fun being part of something and taking charge. It's a learning experience and will probably help you in the future. It also gives you a lot of points so u don't have to worry about pay. But you have to put hours in. For lunch and after school. So you have to be dedicated to be a part of it and that's something a lot of people don't want to do. So yeah , if you want to do it, you have to be ready to put effort into it.

Stephanie: I would definitely recommend being in Supreme Council, because it comes with a lot of benefits. First of all, you can get easy karma points, and you get a lot as well. Who doesn’t want that? Second, you would know much more about P-Ville than the average P-villian, which is really cool. The world of P-Ville is very interesting and will give you a boost on what to know when we all grow up and enter the “real world”. Lastly, it’s powerful, because you get to have a say on the laws and regulations, as well as events for P-Ville. Overall, it’s a great experience and future P-Villians should definitely check it out.

P-VILLIANS AND JOBS DONE SUPERB

SEMAJ was an excellent and superb Director of SWEN, and always brought interesting news to our class and kept the citizens thinking. She received countless bells for excellent SWEN, and has become a role model for the P-Villians in Period 6.

SOPHIA had multiple jobs and excelled in every single one of them. She was a great Supreme Council Member/ Speaker, as well as Stock Analyst. She hosted and planned many things to further improve Period 6’s P-Ville experience.

CLARENZ was the best Director of Technology, probably out of all the periods. He was always on guard and kept our class going quicker than it would’ve been. He is the most clapped for P-Villian in Period 6.
