Surrender

“Laying your life down in tender surrender before the Lord

will bring life, prosperity, and honor as your reward.” Pr.22:4 (tPt)

(Pr.15:33)

“I’m releasing these words to you this day, yes, even to you,

so that your living hope will be found in God alone, for he is the only one who is always true.” Pr.22:19 (tPt)

Leaders who do not demonstrate this (surrender) in their own life, do not have it as a culture.

(leaders teach what they know, but they reproduce who they are.)

The root source of getting off track is (behavior that evidences) thinking ‘this life is mine’.

I belong to Jesus, not to the world, not to the church, not to myself.

You’re placing your life completely on the line.

Your yielded life will be your gift to Him

All progress in the Kingdom comes thru surrender.

”Full surrender is full power” (GH)

As you depend on Him & continually seek His presence, you’re becoming the mature bride.

When your mind leads the way, highlighting everything that’s upsetting you, it will overwhelm your spirit.

You must seek to live in the awareness of His nearness (presence).”

“It’s in Him that you live, move, and exist fully” Acts 17:27-28

Then Jesus went to work on his disciples. “Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead. You’re not

in the driver’s seat; I am. Don’t run from suffering; embrace it. Follow me and I’ll show you how.

Self-help is no help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, my way, to finding yourself, you true self.” Mt.16:24-25 (MSG)

“For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” (vs.25 NKJV)

Surrender goes against social norms. (nat’l realm)

“When you accept your total powerlessness, God can show you the infinite depth of his omnipotence”

(Stinissen)

“Don’t let worry enter your life. Live above the anxious cares about your personal needs.” (Lk.12:29)

“Steep yourself in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. You’ll find all your everyday

human concerns will be met.” (Lk.12:31 – MSG)

All true surrender is birthed in ‘poor in spirit’.

Pride violates the ‘abundance mindset’ – it’s just an ACT – inauthentic.

Anxiety is a sign that you haven’t fully surrendered. I might lose something/not measure up.

(anxiety changes perspective; restricts obedience & hearing.) Unbelief is very different than little faith.

(Lk.12:29)

People who haven’t fully surrendered are usually looking for a solution from outside of God, thereby setting

themselves up to be a victim when that doesn’t happen.

Victim language means you’re dependent (weak).

Surrender means you’re brave!

(“4th man in the fire”)

Salvation is free true devotion will cost you.

“A crisis is a horrible thing to waste” (Dick Clark, CEO – Merck)

In your loss is an absolutely irreplaceable opportunity to declare, “Father, I trust you”. – Out loud!

“The reign of God is a state of life where God rules us and all creation. If God gets to do

what he wants in you — if he no longer is met with any resistance from you –

then you live in the reign of God.” Stinissen
