Directions

• We will have 5 groups of 6 and 1 group of 7
• Your group will work collaboratively to create a Google Slides to best represents the information about “Why they Came and the Results”
• The intention is to leave this pretty open ended… so there are not too many specific requirements
• You must include a section on
• The Original Inhabitants- What they Lost and what they Retained
• The Europeans- Why they Left and Why it matters
• The Colonists- What they Created
• The Discovery of the Americas and the Transatlantic Slave Trade
• Each section for should multiple slides in length (probably 10 or so)
• At the end of your presentation your group should have a “Consequences section”- This should preview future problems that were created due to the information you read.
• 1 final slide of 5 questions your group still may have
• We will discuss your slides on Tuesday

Suggestions

• When you form your group- divy out responsibilities
• Who will handle each reading? What specific pages?
• Who will be responsible for which sections of slides?
• Who will create the slides and share it amongst the group?
• As you read take detailed notes on the critical information from the readings
• Remember to follow good presentation etiquette when presenting/ creating your slides
• You SHOULD NOT have paragraphs of information- NO ONE reads paragraphs on Slide shows
• You should have images to represent the key ideas from your slide
• You should have titles
• You should have Aesthetically pleasing formatting.
• YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE TO READ FROM YOUR SLIDES- it is VERY important to KNOW your material. There is nothing worse than someone who just reads slides to you...
