DUAL ENROLLMENT GUIDE
SIX STEPS TO REGISTER

STEP 1: HOW TO APPLY
STEPS TO APPLY
Click link to start an application: Apply online (https://www.moorparkcollege.edu/apply-and-enroll/apply-admission) & then click ‘Online Application for Admission’
You will be asked to create an account on CCCApply (or sign in if created an account in the past) *If you have previously taken a dual enrollment class you can select Sign In. The new system will require you to verify your email address or phone number. If you encounter any issues when creating your account or signing in click on the HELP option at the bottom right.
Retrieve the six-digit security code sent to your email account and enter the code on the Verify Your Account page.

Complete your Contact Information Tab (Step 1), scroll down and complete Personal Information Tab (Step 2), and Credentials Tab (Step 3) with your information and make sure to press ‘Next’ after each section. [Anything that has a * next to the question is what you have to fill out; if it does not, you do not need to answer].
Under Personal Information Tab (Step 2), Since your tuition is being waived as a Dual Enrollment student, your Social Security Number is not required so you can select “No” and check the box below.

Under Credentials (Step 3), you must create a password that follows all these requirements & make sure to write down the password somewhere safe so you don’t forget.
Then press ‘Create Account’.
If you did not prevent a SSN or taxpayer number you will get this screen, you can then click ‘Verify Later’
You will get this pop up next. Just click ‘Decline verification.’
Press the button to start a new application.
MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE APPLYING FOR THE CORRECT TERM.
You can put anything for Educational Goal, Major Category, and Intended Major or Program of Study , etc. and can change later. It doesn’t matter for your Dual Enrollment class.
VERY IMPORTANT: On Education page, select “Enrolling in high school and college at the same time”. This is how you will apply as a Dual Enrollment student.
Under Residency, since your tuition is being waived as a Dual Enrollment student, your Social Security Number is not required so you can select “No” and check this box.
Once you’re done, make sure you review your application, answer the Consent question, mark the checkboxes, and then click submit.
The check marks next to each page title indicates you have completed the page.
STEP 2: SETUP YOUR MYVCCCD PORTAL
Check your personal email for one with a subject that says: “Welcome to Moorpark College!”

The MyVCCCD Account Activation webpage will display your:
NOTE: Make sure to save the above information for future reference.
Password (click the "Show" button to display the password). This is temporary password to get you logged in to MyVCCCD the first time and then you will be prompted to create a new password for your account.
Here is where you will enter your student email address and temporary password from the screen in the previous slide:
To keep your account secure, you will be asked to set up Two-Factor Authentication. Select Email (your personal email) or Mobile Authenticator, then follow the prompts.

Once you complete Two-Factor Authentication, you will be asked to create a new password for your account:
After setting your new password, simply click on the "continue logging in" link:
After logging in with your new password, you will be taken to your student portal. It should look similar to the example below:
STEP 3: SUBMIT DUAL ENROLLMENT E-FORM
Usual Classes for Dual Enrollment:
World History - Moorpark - HIST M160
World History - Oxnard - HIST R160
US History - Moorpark - HIST M140
US History - Oxnard - HIST R140
US History - Ventura - HIST V56
American Government - all schools - POLS C1000
Economics - Moorpark - ECON M202
Economics - Oxnard - ECON R202
Economics - Ventura - ECON V01A
If you want to take an elective or fill your VPA requirement (Area 3) try to pick one on this list as it will give you college credit as well.
Find out what your classes course number is and write it down.
The completion of Alg. 2 with Cs or higher is a PREREQUISITE for ECON M202, which means you will NOT be able to register for ECON M202 if you are currently enrolled in Alg. 2 until your transcript is final in June, once grades have been entered.

HOW TO SUBMIT THE
DUAL ENROLLMENT E-FORM
Click the link below to complete the required digital form EVERY NEW CLASS you are a dual enrollment student:
Scroll down and click ‘Dual Enrollment E-Form’ on the right hand side.
You will log into your portal, then this page will appear. Complete all sections with red asterisk:
After listing Counselor email and Parent/Guardian email, scroll down and list courses you wish to take:
List courses in the correct MC course name format, example: ENGL M01A for English
Click “Add” if you want to add more courses &/or there is a class that has multiple locations such as US History (add HIST M140, R140 & HIST V56).
*Only upload additional paperwork here if you are a homeschooled student with a Private School Affidavit. If you are not, do not upload anything.
Scroll down and read through Memorandum of Understanding, and check the box at the bottom:
Checking the box opens up a signature box, where you will then sign the form electronically and click “Submit”.
Your School Counselor and Parent will receive the form to sign, and once they complete it, it will be sent to Admissions and Records for processing. Please give Admissions 1 Business day to process it.
You will receive emails regarding the progress of your form at your my.vcccd.edu Gmail account. Make sure to continue to check your my.vcccd.edu email. It will let you know when you are able to register for a class.
To check dual enrollment status, Click “Register/Add/Drop”.
Scroll down and click “Registration Appointment” to view:
Scroll down to the bottom of the Registration Appointment page to see if your MOU has been submitted, clearing you for the specific course you want to take.
If it is blank (as it is pictured above), your Dual Enrollment E-Form has NOT been cleared and you need to wait for signatures.
If you have been cleared, the course(s) you listed on the Dual Enrollment E-Form will be listed in the area above.
STEP 4: PICK A CLASS

First, make sure it’s in the term you want in the drop box on top. Then check the box for open classes. Next, type in first letters before the space of the class you want. Lastly, check which location you want, or check all campuses if you’re trying to find a course that’s online.
For this example, we’ll be applying for US History in the summer.
Once this page has loaded, you will want to find your class. For US History, for example, there are three different course numbers to choose from: HIST M140, HIST R140, and HIST V56.
You can press CTRL+F, and type in the course you are looking for to easily find your course.
Once you find your class, you can pick what section class you want to sign up for. For this example, we’re going to choose an 8-week course so we have more time to complete the work.
Once you pick the section, you will need to write the CRN number somewhere you won’t forget. You will need this number later.
**Note it is important to find more than one section because classes fill up fast!!
STEP 5: REGISTER FOR COURSE

CLEAR PREREQUISITES
If the class you are choosing has a prerequisite (check course description), please use textline 1-805-378-1428 to clear pre-requisite.
The completion of Alg. 2 with Cs or higher is a PREREQUISITE for ECON M202, which means you will NOT be able to register for ECON M202 if you are currently enrolled in Alg. 2 until your transcript is final in June, once grades have been entered.
You do not need a prerequisite clearance to take ENGL M01A.
You can clear your own prerequisite by clicking this link:
Click “Register/Add/Drop”.
First, complete your “Pre-Registration Checklist.”
Select which term you are doing the course in.
Then complete each section till they are all green with ‘Complete.’
Afterwards, you will go back to “Register/Add/Drop”
Click ‘Registration Planner.’
Select “Current Schedule” at the top, and then type in the CRN and press “Register”.

YOU DID IT!
To confirm that you have successfully enrolled in the class,
please check your Student Schedule Bill.
Your Schedule Bill will list all the classes you are enrolled in, when they start, and deadlines to drop. If the class you are trying to enroll in is not listed, you are not registered for the class.
To access your Student Schedule Bill, search “Schedule Bill” in the search bar at the top of your portal and select “Student Schedule Bill”:
Class has an online component, referred to as CANVAS, move to slide 52 to learn how to access it.

Please take a screenshot of any error message that pops up when you try to register, and send that screenshot to mcdualenrollment@vcccd.edu with your name and VCCCD Student ID 900#.
