The Purpose of the Question continuum is to understand the differences between clarifying and probing questions and practice formulating questions

Before we get into the experience, I want to point you to this visual diagram of the question continuum.

You will notice the probing questions are in the middle...in the grey cloud.
As I just explained, probing questions are designed to help the receiver uncover thinking or beliefs...they lead to transformative learning for both the presenter and all participants (including the “asker”).
Clarifying questions are the least probing, they are just for quick factual responses. They are meant to gain clarity for the “asker” and participants
Suggestive questions are more focused on giving advice. The giver is suggesting to the receiver ways to change conditions or structures. We have a natural tendency to desire to help each other by providing ideas/solutions. Are these questions leading to deep/transformative learning?
