teacher spider and the golden threadjohn paul lederachupaya march 10, 2021

glistening first light
unveiled spider’s startling leap
waving in the wind

between cactus spikes
the shimmer of silken threads
defiantly glisten

bucket list 8
touch tenacity
silk thread stretched from
branch to earth bent by breeze but
grounded at both ends

the sun shimmers up
and down this thin golden thread
swaying with the wind

to glisten:
to be present with others
in ways that help them shine into their deepest color, purpose and wisdom

to attend:
(v)/from Latin, ad tendere,
to stretch the mind until one can listen
with a soft heart

spider’s web:
what holds the center
are strong ties to the margins
