Increasing Carbon Dioxide in Atmosphere:

  • Primary greenhouse gas, responsible for about three-quarters of emissions.

Sea Level Rise

Sea level rise, driven by thermal expansion and melting ice, leads to coastal erosion, increased flooding, and habitat loss. It threatens human settlements, causing displacement and economic strain, and endangers ecosystems like wetlands and coral reefs. Mitigation involves building defenses, sustainable planning, and restoring natural barriers.
