When you select subjects:

Choose the main content area (history, math, science, social studies, arts, reading, writing, and other) at the top of the list first

Then any specific subject areas below

(this helps with the search process)

Select any learning and logistical accommodations

Make sure to fill in the name of the piece for the website reader

Photos get used in listing AND turned into the page banner

Helpful to teachers if you get specific with these

(you can always edit these later- if they are blank, they don’t show up)

Your hours of operation get imported from google

If these are different from your field trip hours, you can leave this blank and nothing with show up

Include the URL for your education page

(they can be tough to find from the main website)

In the upper right corner, there’s a Dashboard icon - This is where you control everything

Easy to go back and change anything!

To add any learning experiences (field trips or digital resources)

Include the TYPE of experience in the title, so people know what they’re clicking on

Keep descriptions short, 3- 6 sentences

Longer descriptions and directions can go on your website page

For a learning experience

tag 5 or fewer subjects!

Remember to choose the main content area at the top of the list first

Then any specific subject areas below

Tag payment type:

  • Transactions don’t go through Explorable Places
  • Users would get forwarded to your website for payment

This controls the order of listing:

Label your experiences 10, 20, 30... so that new ones can be added between without editing previous entries
