Look around! Labs can be dangerous

if you don’t pay attention to your surroundings!

Follow the below rules to stay safe:

PPE Includes (at a minimum):

Lab coats, gloves, and safety goggles

When working with hazardous materials in a lab, researchers wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to keep them safe!

SAFETY MOMENT: STAY ALERT!

No Food or Drink is allowed in the lab!

    • Do not touch any chemicals or equipment outside of the designated activities.
    • No eating or drinking in the lab!
    • Avoid leaning against lab bench tops, fume

hoods, and shelving.

The lab is an exciting place to be, but there is always a lot going on.

Accidents can happen! If something happens that isn’t supposed to, don’t panic. Follow the below steps to ensure everyone is kept safe:

    • Alert the host of your activity.
    • Remain calm and listen to the instructions of your group leader.
