TRANSCRIPT DEFINITION

A high school transcript is a permanent record of your academic accomplishments in high school.

Your MHHS transcript includes:

  • Every class you took in high school
  • When you took the class
  • The final letter grade you earned at the end of each semester
  • The number of credits you earned for each class
  • A credit summary
  • Your cumulative high school GPA

PURPOSE

  • To apply to college
    • Arguably the most important part of your college application
    • Colleges can learn a lot about you from your transcript
  • To graduate high school
    • Counselors review your transcript to make sure you have met all of the graduation requirements to earn your high school diploma
    • You also need a transcript if you transfer to another high school
  • To apply for jobs
    • Some jobs require you to submit your high school transcript when you apply
