Success Coach vs. Faculty Adviser

Academic Success Coach (That's us!)

  • Provide registration assistance and support navigating your degree evaluation, unofficial transcript and the schedule of classes
  • Help students explore majors and minors
  • Discuss academic options and explain university academic policies and procedures
  • Connect students to campus resources
  • Help you advocate with your instructors regarding academic options when life gets complicated

Faculty/Major Adviser

  • Advise students on core, major and elective classes to take each semester
  • Develop a graduation plan with students
  • Discuss interests, internships, graduate programs, and career options after graduation

Transcript Issues?

Complete the USF Transfer Credit Request Form *IF* you:

  • Think a class from your previous institution may satisfy a University Core requirement
  • Don’t see all your previous coursework included on your academic transcript and/or Degree Evaluation

PLEASE NOTE: Your Rhetoric and Writing requirement (Core A2) and Community Engaged Learning (CEL) requirements MUST be completed at USF.

  • If you think a transfer course could fulfill a University Core requirement, please contact the Office of the Registrar (by completing the USF Transfer Credit Request form)

Your Degree Evaluation lists all graduation requirements and shows what you’ve already completed. Meet with your faculty adviser to determine applicability of transfer major coursework.

  • Are you a commuter student? Do you need a safe place to store your belongings while on campus?
  • The Commuter Locker Program is designed to support undergraduate students who commute to campus by offering a secure place to store personal belongings during the academic year.
  • Lockers are located in a central campus location, University Center 3rd Floor, Parina Lounge, and are available on a semester-by-semester basis through a lottery application. APPLICATION OPENS JULY 28 – FIND APPLICATION IN YOUR USF EMAIL OR ON THE WEBSITE – DEADLINE TO APPLY AUGUST 19

Fall 2024 Course Modalities

  • In-person: Meets on-campus for every class session.
  • Hybrid: Mixture of on-campus and remote learning; see class schedule for details.
  • HyFlex: Meets on-campus for every class session with some students participating remotely via Zoom. Your professor will work with you to determine who attends in-person and who attends remotely.
  • Remote: Does not meet on-campus; instruction via Zoom during scheduled class time.
  • Online: Designed and taught completely online mostly through asynchronous learning.
