PPMC Statistics

  • Students at PPMC show a sharp reduction in absence rates after transfer suggesting that the PPMC environment is highly effective at engaging and re-engaging students through student centered curriculum and work-based learning.

  • Once at PPMC, GPA trends improve consistently across nearly all subgroups. By grade 12, SPED, Low-SES, Black/African American, and Hispanic students often surpass district averages. Data shows GPAs rate of increase is 5 times higher than the district average.

  • Students take both high school and Palomar College classes each semester
  • College classes are taken alongside college students
  • High school classes are taught by credentialed PUSD teachers on campus
  • Students earn both high school and college credit for certain courses

Graduation and Beyond

  • Students graduate from PPMC with a PUSD high school diploma
  • Many transfer to four-year universities as sophomores or continue at Palomar as a second year
  • Graduates are prepared for success in college, career, and life
  • Go into the workforce with a higher paying job due to a Palomar certificate

Admissions Process

  • Open to rising 11th and 12th grade students in PUSD

  • Application includes transcript review, and interview

  • Students should have the ability to successfully complete college-level coursework with support and a willingness to attend school on a regular basis

Important Reminders

  • PPMC is a school, not a program within another high school

  • Accepted students transfer from their current school to PPMC

  • Students who attend PPMC will graduate from PPMC

  • Students can play sports at their previous school site
