STAAR Parent Information

April 10th STAAR Reading (3rd, 4th, and 5th)

April 17th STAAR Science (5th grade only)

April 24th STAAR Math (3rd, 4th, and 5th)

Reminders/TIPS:

• We need all students here for STAAR testing. - Our school ratings are tied to attendance on testing days. We need everyone here!
• Please help us have a smooth testing day by arriving on time.
• Make sure your child eats a good breakfast and comes with a healthy snack and water on testing days!
• Students may NOT have phones or smart watches on testing days.
• Please do not schedule appointments for these days.
• Students have all day to test if needed though STAAR tests are designed to take approx. 2 hours.

How we prepare students at school:

Interim STAAR (practice STAAR) at the end of February will give students practice with the online platform and give teachers information to guide classroom instruction and small group instruction. Additionally in the Spring semester, teachers begin to increase their students' exposure to question types and begin to focus on test taking strategies.
