FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ON WESTERN ACCOUNT

Q: What is a secret question and answer?

A secret question and answer helps you if you forget your password. When you first activate your WesternAccount, you will be asked to create a secret question and answer. You can change these at any time.

When creating a secret question and answer, keep the following tips in mind:

  • Do use a question and answer that generally only you will know
  • Do use a question that is enduring (e.g. mother's maiden name, the name of your first pet, etc.)
  • Do not use a question and answer that may change over time (e.g. name of your best friend, your favorite song, etc.)
  • Do not use the following characters: ' ` " & < >

If you forget your password, click on the 'Forgot your password' link from WesternAccount page:

  • this will prompt you to enter your staff or student number
  • you will then be prompted to answer your secret question

You will then be able to change your password without entering your old password.
