  • Otherwise, standard things we know—no interrupting, listening respectfully, making room for quieter members to speak up.

Breakout Room Exercise: 15 Minutes

  • You will be placed into a small group of no more than 4 people, with differing viewpoints.

  • Introduce yourselves (1 minute)

  • What was one thing you agreed with from a speaker with whom you generally disagree? (No ‘buts’, just appreciation) (4 minutes)

  • What are two questions your group wants to ask either speaker to delve deeper or clarify? (10 minutes)

  • Chat your 2 questions into the shared Google Doc

  • At 8 minutes, you will get a message “Halfway through”

  • At 30 seconds before you come back to the “main room”, second message
