The Discovering Science Connections challenge was chosen due to a great interest in bringing science closer to people with the desire to educate and inspire, through art.
Many consider that science is not fun, that all NASA does is investigate objects far from the earth. How can the magic of art be transmitted to science so that people understand that NASA not only needs engineers, but that from musicians to nutritionists, administrators, they can collaborate? Can Art promote Science?
Although NASA has made efforts to get people closer to astronomy through art, and in general to all disciplines, even the non-scientific ones that are needed to work at NASA, the efforts are scattered in different competitions, which to most of the population go unnoticed, they do not generate a great impact for the necessary target audience
The NASA SONG CONTEST will be full of scientific research so that the songs that participate best represent the work of the five science divisions in NASA's Science Mission Directorate. It will be held in a place that encourages its magic and popularity such as Walt Disney World.
The theme of each year will vary, rotating the five science divisions in NASA's Science Mission Directorate
