Establishing a Foundation

Steps to establish a foundation for your Key Club chapter:

  • Establish an officer team: introduce yourselves and set goals that you will accomplish by a specific date
  • Organize a schedule for the year: create a timeline and be specific!
  • Logistics and Reliability: think through the logistics of your plan and if it has an attainable goal that you can follow through with; additionally, be sure to have a reliable team to work together in order to obtain maximum success
  • Define platforms of communication: through organizing the timeframe for your club, create different messaging groups to communicate with one another (Messages Group Chat, Remind, GroupMe, etc.)
  • Plan in advance: this is the last and one of the most important steps; ensure that you plan all activities much in advance in order to allow yourself (and your officer team) time to plan a successful initiative (general/officer meetings, events, service activities, donation drives, socials, fundraisers, etc.)

How can you recruit students to join Key Club?

The most important part of being able to successfully recruit individuals to join your organization is by emphasizing your club’s purpose, goals, and activities!

The reason this is imperative to successful recruitment is because not only does it allow students to evaluate if this club is something they are interested in, but by emphasizing the goals, it brings more awareness to what their contributions will go towards.

Key Club members around the world are learning how to lead and stand for what’s right through service and volunteerism. In partnership with their local Kiwanis club, high school students are making a positive impact as they serve others in their schools and communities.”
