Effective study skills help us to retain and accurately apply the information that we have learned in 2 ways. First, studying strengthens neural pathways which improves our memory. And second, studying helps us to connect ideas, improving our application of knowledge. It is helpful to keep the brain system in mind while deciding how to study and learn.

Be clear and specific so your goals are easier to achieve. This helps you know how to get started.

Measurable goals can be tracked, allowing you to see your progress. They tell you when a goal is complete.

Are you able to take action to achieve your goal? Attainable goals ensure clear steps to get there.

Avoid overwhelm and unnecessary stress by making the goal relevant to your needs.

A date helps you stay focused and motivated, providing something to work towards in a timely manner.
