THINK BACK TO THE WAYS YOU BEHAVED AT THE ARVADA CENTER ON TUESDAY. IN WHAT WAYS DID YOUR PRIVILEGE AND ENTITLEMENT SHAPE YOUR BEHAVIOR?

9 of 12

HERE ARE SOME THINGS I OBSERVED THAT MADE ME ASHAMED TO BE AT THE ARVADA CENTER W/ STUDENTS:

  • Programs were left in the theater.
  • Programs were crumpled up, rolled up, and ripped up.
  • Trash was left all over the theater.
  • Phones were used in the theater.
  • Students were making noises during the play.
  • Students were sitting in a way that caused distraction.
  • Students were whispering.
  • The Arvada Center ushers and theater director commenting this was the worst behavior they’d seen from students.
  • Students were in line to buy concessions and ignored both the ushers and Mr. Grau (the RVHS AP 12 English Lit teacher) when they announced students needed to return to the theater because the play was about to start.
  • Students were not paying attention during the play.
  • Students were looking around and making faces at other.
  • Students were eating during the play after being asked not to.
