STUDENT VOICES

"Through my journey in learning computer science, and coming across this competition. I learned that even if I can make it this far, others like me could do the same. There are intelligent people here who I know for sure can succeed in this field but they sell themselves short because they do not believe in themselves. One day, I plan to change that by spreading the message that Computer Science can truly lead to equity. Anyone can learn it, and just as many can choose to create wonderful things that advance the world as we know it. I believe it can really level the playing field and make it so that anyone who has the opportunity to can succeed with it. The world needs change, and the more humans of any kind we have in this field, the faster our diverse futuristic dreams can manifest together and become reality.

Listen to their song!

STUDENT VOICES

That’s why I created this song: as a gift to other people who’ve been singled out for who they are, whether it’s because of autism, ethnicity, gender, race, or otherwise. I hope that with this song, they’ll continue to stay true to themselves and keep reaching out, forming bonds with other people who’ve been in similar positions, and living their life to the fullest. We are the ones in control of how we treat each other, so let’s start making each other’s lives better"

TEACHER VOICES

I want to thank you for everything. This competition is always so emotional. I got to know these students for our summer school program. You never know what these students are facing. This program was a class for summer school. Many of these students were uninspired and needing motivation. This program helped them change their view of themselves and most of them are now passing their classes with a new view of the world and themselves. I am so proud of them and I am so thankful for this program. To see the confident grow in them and their parents to call me and thank me for this program makes my heart happy. Thank you. I feel like we already won.
