Interim 101: Questions

  • Exactly like STAAR summative assessment questions (i.e., reviewed and approved by educators, field tested with Texas students, administered using same platform)
  • Better aligned to TEKS when compared to third-party Interim assessment products
  • Appropriate for all students (including emergent bilingual students and students receiving special education services)

Interim 101: Test Type

  • Multi-stage assessment (rather than linear) for Reading and Math
  • Linear assessment for Science and Social Studies: single form and same items

Interim 101: CRS

  • Section 1 and 2 of multi-stage adaptive → reported as raw scores and as predicted performance levels
  • Students who don’t take Section 2 will receive only item-level data in district data file
  • Aggregate reporting aligned to “meets” performance level and classified as “under target, near target, and above target”:
    • Under: significantly below, needs additional support
    • Near: performing near proficiency but not enough to determine above/below
    • Above: achieving proficiency
