Education Code Requirements
Schools must adopt an annual safety plan that is approved by March 1st.
Each school must report on the status of its school safety plan, including a description of its key elements noted in the School Accountability Report Card.
The school site council is responsible for developing the school site safety plan or for delegating the responsibility to a school safety planning committee. Committees need to be composed of administration, certificated and classified staff, and parents.
Local law enforcement and appropriate agencies are consulted as needed.
