Blended learning involves using a variety of instructional resources and teaching methods in order to deliver content in-person and via distance learning.
Distance learning includes no in-person interaction between teachers and students. However, you’ll likely rely on digital forms of communication such as messaging apps, video calls, discussion boards, and your school’s learning management system (LMS).
Online learning includes in-person interaction where students can be together in the classroom with an instructor while working through their digital lessons and assessments.
FLIP the Script
What if we can’t physically be in the classroom together?
What if we have to close school buildings for an extended period of time?
What if some students cannot come to school? What if some teachers cannot come to school?
What if we have to do a staggered schedule?
Think about what brought you here today
What if we can use distance learning as a way to connect even more?
What if we can share resources statewide? Exemplary teachers? Innovative content?
What if we can personalize learning, differentiate, foster student voice?
What if we can amplify our vision for education?

Considerations for Schools
Blackboard Learn and Google Classroom
Google Classroom is a free tool that teachers use to simplify creating, distributing and grading assignments in a paperless way. Google Classroom is not an enterprise LMS.
Blackboard Learn is a scalable enterprise Learning Management System that include integration with other systems, differentiated assessment types, adaptive release, and reporting capabilities.
Google Classroom and Blackboard Learn can be considered cohesive solutions rather than competing solutions.
