  • The Frayer Model
  • Required as opening or closing
    • Things to keep in Mind: A student needs to hear, speak, and experience a word at least 15 times before it is entered into their vocabulary. “Speaking up to kids” is important for increasing vocabulary.
  • Consider teaching mostly Tier II vocabulary, some Tier III
