The Viewfinder: in addition to being used to compose the image, the viewfinder of an SLR Camera contains an in-camera light meter and some form of focus control.

Most traditional SLR cameras contain a Split Sphere Focus Control. To focus the image, turn the focusing ring of the lens until the two halves of the target align. Newer SLRs may have autofocus features, as well as, autofocus points.
