The problem statement for LMES is described in this section

02

Problem

8 of 28

The main goals and objectives of the SRDL project remain unfinished for some reasons

4,176 Sheikh Russel Digital Labs are elevated all over the country by the Government of Bangladesh for meeting the demand of Digital Bangladesh to strengthen the computer and IT skills among school students.

Each of the lab set up costs bdt 30-40 lac; fully furnished and resourceful; full of new computers and accessories.

BUT

9 of 28

Problem Statement

  • Lack of continuous supervision of the Sheikh Russel Digital Labs by higher authority

  • Communication gap between lab instructors, teachers, head of institution and other higher administrative authority

  • Lack of proper and regular plans and implementing those plans
  • Lack of IT knowledge of the coordinators of the labs
  • Not maintaining proper schedules for the lab classes and irregular activity

The reason behind the inadequate performance of the Sheikh Russel Digital Labs

The implementation details of LMES are described in this section

04

Execution

20 of 28

First Phase

We have started implementing the plan with SRDls of only 4 schools of Cumilla Sadar Upazila and succeeded

21 of 28

Second Phase

We have targeted a total of 100 SRDLs all over Cumilla district in this phase and already brought 42 SRDLs under Lab Monitoring and Evaluation System.

22 of 28

Implementation Cost

App Development Cost

Implementation per lab

We have started the project with a prototype android app. To complete the app making it full functioning and adding unlimited labs the estimated cost is BDT 10,00,000 only

To install a high definition cctv camera(4 mp, with audio) in one SRDL the total cost is BDT 11,000 only.

So once the development of the app is done, the implementation cost per lab(11,000) is very little if we consider the cost of the lab resources(30,00,000) we are monitoring.

Vision

27 of 28

Future Plans and Goals

  • Improve the app adding more features for evaluating SRDLs accurately

  • Implement the system in SRDLs all over the country in all districts

  • Develop desktop version and web application of the system with lot more features
  • We can update this project and implement real time monitoring in anywhere needed
  • We can research and attempt more complex features implementing machine learning and AI to automate security/monitoring through our app

We are falling back in implementing the project for lack of funding. We think we can improve the system a lot if we can continue the project further.
