Naviance: Moving Colleges from “Thinking About” list to “Applying To” list

  • When you are 100% certain that you will apply to a college, move the college from the “Colleges I’m thinking about” list to the “Colleges I’m applying to” list.

  • When moving the college, be sure that you indicate the correct DEADLINE for the admissions option you have selected: Early Action/Restrictive EA, Early Decision, Rolling, Regular Decision.

  • Common Application School: be sure to indicate if you ARE or ARE NOT applying using the Common Application - very important.

How to Request a Transcript

Only one step in this important process: you MUST request your transcript in your Naviance account for each college!

  1. Log in to your Naviance account
  2. Go to “Colleges I’m applying to”
  3. Click on “REQUEST TRANSCRIPTS
  4. Select “Initial” transcript because this is your first transcript request
  5. Select schools that you would like us to send your transcript to
  6. Click on “Request and Finish”

IMPORTANT:

Please note: requesting your transcript in Naviance is REQUIRED before your transcript/counselor letter of recommendation will be processed and sent to schools.

  • Transcript Review – Any problems/concerns/issues, report by Friday, September 16

Transcript Requests in Naviance are due 2 weeks BEFORE application deadline:

  • Applications due on October 15: transcript requests must be submitted by Friday, September 30

  • Applications due on November 1: transcript requests must be submitted by Monday, October 17

  • Applications due on November 15: transcript requests must be submitted by Tuesday, November 1

  • Applications due on January 1: transcript requests must be submitted by Friday, December 16

  • Self-Reported Grades:

  • After applying to a college, expect to receive an email with directions on setting up your application portal.

  • This portal will enable you to track the status of your application and ensure you are aware of any missing documents.

  • Admissions decisions are also communicated via your portal.

  • Mrs. Bozine will automatically submit your transcript once you are registered.

  • Typically, SAT/ACT scores must be sent to the NCAA directly from the testing agency - NCAA Code: 9999; however, because of COVID-19, the NCAA has excluded standardized test scores from initial-eligibility criteria for students who will enroll during 2023-24

Hints for a successful application process

  • Communication is a key to success - ask questions and seek help!

  • Continue to take advantage of college admissions representatives’ visits to demonstrate interest and obtain additional information.

  • Always review the admissions sections of colleges’ websites for additional information.
