9-12 year olds 6 pm - 7 pm

June 17 - July 16 (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday)

13 and older 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm

What to Know About Practice

  • Make as many practices as you can
  • Come to the right time slot for your age group
  • Later in the summer, choose morning or afternoon practice
  • Try to make at least a couple Friday morning practices (donut practices!) if you’re able

Meets:

Time Trials is June 8�Everyone swims to get a time and practice in a meet setting.

�B Meets: Wednesday evenings.

Our entire Merrimack team competes against another club for best times. All swimmers are eligible.

�A Meets: Saturday mornings.

Swimmers are selected based on times and ability to swim an event legally. We compete for points against pools in our division. We are in Division E.

�Mark Your Availability! We need to know if your swimmer is available to swim for every meet. Even if you don’t think your child will be an A Meet swimmer, still mark availability.

What’s Expected of Swimmers

  • Come to practices and meets
  • Listen to and be respectful of the coaches
  • Be kind and encouraging to teammates and the swimmers from other teams

What’s Expected of Parents

  • Allow the coaches to focus their full attention on practice.
  • Allow the coaches to coach your swimmers.
  • Volunteer! This team runs 100% on volunteers.

Volunteering

Best Roles for New Families

  • Timer – run a stopwatch during races and record swimmer times
  • Runner – bring timecards from each lane to the automation table
  • Ribbons – place names and times on ribbons

Consider

  • Stroke and Turn Judge – requires certification and knowledge of the sport
  • Clerk of Course – takes a bit of training
  • Volunteering for a larger role – talk to any member of the swim committee about how to help
