About Me: I was born in Avon, and I still live there. I am an Avon/JVS graduate, my husband, Doug, is an Avon Lake graduate. We have two kids, Zack, and Emilie. Zack married an Emily so now we have two Em Wetzigs.

Fun Facts: I know about building houses since Doug and I built three of them. We did most of the work on the first house and contracted out more work on the last two.

I am a huge collector of books. I love to read, write, draw, cook, sew and go for long walks. I love to relax around a campfire in the backyard with my family and friends. I have 3 adult children and 5 grandkids. I love taking beach vacations with my family. I love teaching at Troy!

Fun Facts: I have lived in 6 different states (Indiana, Illinois, W. Virginia, Pennsylvania, Florida and Ohio.) I worked for 2 years as a country radio disc jockey and I owned a pizza restaurant for 12 years with my husband Tony (who also works at Troy).

Fun Facts: I love trees. Have you seen a tree prettier than this one on the right? It's a beauty and a great climbing tree too. It is found on the island of Guam and called håyun lågu, meaning “northern tree.” I grew up on Guam and last visited in 2025.

Fun Facts: My husband and I love Lake Erie. Whether on paddle boards, kayaks, our boat, or at one of the many beautiful beaches, you will find us on or near the water most of the summer, and I will most likely also have a good book in my hand!

Fun Facts: My family and I have welcomed and hosted 5 different exchange students and families into our home. My son Jack turned 24 this year and is living in Florida. I am a huge sports fan! College football weekends and March Madness are my favorites.

I live in Bay Village and have two children, Josephine, 10 and Benjamin, 7, and a dog named Indiana Jones (Indy). I love Cleveland sports, especially the Browns! One of my hobbies is birding, and my favorite bird is the Cardinal!

Fun Facts: My favorite season is the Fall, and I love Halloween! 🎃I really enjoy traveling and have been lucky enough to have visited really cool places in the world including Alaska, Italy, Mexico, Canada (Toronto and Montreal) and different cities in China! I walked on one of the sections of the Great Wall of China near Beijing!

About Me: I love teaching! I have had the wonderful opportunity to teach 6th grade science at Troy and three great years teaching math/science at Learwood - and now I am excited to be back! I grew up in Avon Lake but now live in Lakewood. My husband and I just had our first little one (Mason) back in March. We also have a dog (Tim) and a cat (Luna). I enjoy hanging out with family and friends, working out, and eating ice cream!

Fun Facts: Survivor Superfan (I actually have applied multiple times, maybe someday!) I have 6 children (3 boys and 3 girls), a dog and my wife is an Elementary School Principal at a Christian school in Elyria. And…. I love to cook! I also attended high school with Iron Chef Michael Symon.

Fun Facts:. My family loves to travel and enjoys biking and snowshoeing. I enjoy all four seasons…even the winter! Christmas is my favorite holiday. (I got married in December!) About Me: I LOVE teaching. I have taught all subjects but love science and math the most. I have 3 children ages 22, 20, and 18. I love dogs, reading, baking and spending time with my family.

Fun Facts: I love watching football, especially when my sons played. I love baking but don’t like to cook! I have over 50 plants in my house. Because of my love of animals, I became vegan three years ago, which means I do not eat or wear animal products.

Fun Facts: I like to ride my bike to school. It takes me about 50 minutes to get there from where I live. My bicycling record is 100 miles in one day!

About Me: ’I am married to my wife , who is a Chemist at Sherwin Williams. I have two children a boy and girl who both graduated from Avon Lake. My mom was also a teacher that retired with Put-In-Bay Schools. I have taught or supervised in every building in the district throughout the years.

Fun Facts: My wife and I eloped in Las Vegas. I worked on a ferry boat for 7 years transporting people and cargo to Put-In-Bay and Middle Bass Islands. Broke the 10 second and 140 MPH barriers in a Super Street class drag car.

About Me: I started teaching Middle School Science after graduating from the University of Dayton (go Flyers!) 20 years ago and my 8th year with Avon Lake Schools. When I’m not teaching, my husband and I are on the sidelines, cheering on our 15 year old daughter and 12 year old son in sports. There’s another Mrs. Swislocki, my sister-in-law, who teaches music in Avon Lake. My siblings and their families live in Cincinnati, where I grew up. My hobbies include reading, cooking, traveling and being in nature

Fun Facts: I’ve been fortunate to travel and experience some neat places around the world. One of our most memorable trips was to Cape Town, South Africa. Teaching Earth Science I marveled at seeing Table Mountain in person.

About Me: I grew up in Avon Lake and live in town. I have two children: Nick and Maddie who both graduated from ALHS. I have 3 Boston Terriers named Bo, Rudy and Lou. I love to travel to warm places with a beach. I also enjoy spending time with family and friends and cooking or grilling when I’m not working.

Fun Facts: Right after I graduated High School I moved to California and attended a college that had white tigers on campus. When I’m not teaching you might see me working as a Police Officer for the City of Avon Lake.

About Me: I love teaching ELA to sixth graders because I love sharing and discussing some of my favorite books. I like teaching Social Studies because I love talking about other people and places. I have lived in Olmsted Falls my whole life. I am the oldest of three sisters. I have two daughters who are 26 and 24. My older daughter is an intervention specialist at a middle school. I have two kitties, Emmy and Rosey. I have five nephews and two nieces.

Fun Facts: I graduated from Ohio University and Cleveland State University. I absolutely love planting flowers outside, relaxing with a book at the pool or any beach, and spending time with friends and family. I also love watching musicals and movies, listening to music, singing, and taking walks. My husband teaches fifth grade at the same school as Mrs. Schafer’s husband. Also, I met gold medal Olympian, Katie (Nageotte) Moon and got to hold her gold medal.

Fun Facts: I love teaching, and I knew I was going to be a teacher since I was a child. I really enjoy baking and vacationing at the beach or high up in the mountains. Our family loves going to Cedar Point each summer. One day, I hope to live in a log cabin out in the country.

About Me: I am the speech-language pathologist for Troy! I also work at Learwood Middle School and Avon Lake High School. I love helping students become better communicators and I always try to make speech fun. I live in Cleveland with my husband. I love grandma hobbies like gardening, needlepointing, and playing mahjong. I also enjoy going for walks with my dog Squash, crafting, and getting a sweet treat at Rita’s Italian Ice and Frozen Custard as often as possible.

- I collect glass Christmas ornaments and I love decorating my tree with them. I love the east coast and my dream is to spend every summer on Cape Cod.
