ALL Kindergarten students will be screened for QUEST during their
Kindergarten year in January.
Students in grades 1-5 can be referred for QUEST screening/testing once a year. The referral window for the Fall is open through Friday, August 16th. The referral link and additional information about the program can be found on our QUEST website.
If your child was previously identified as G/T, we must have documentation so a record review can take place. Each district has its own requirements for G/T qualification.
**Students may only be tested once a year! If a student was tested in Spring 2023, the student may not be tested again until Spring 2024.**
Visitor Procedures
Please bring your government issued photo ID every time you come to campus and be prepared to scan it for entry. Examples: drivers license, passport or passport card, military ID, US issued travel or work visa with a photo.
A badge with your name and building destination will be printed and must be visibly displayed on you while on campus.
When possible, please exit through the front doors so that the receptionist can check you out.
**Please remain in the building area you indicated upon check-in. If you are going to be in multiple areas visiting, please let the receptionist know. Do not go to classrooms unannounced. Our teachers are making the most of their instructional time and should not be interrupted. Meetings can be scheduled by email for designated planning times.**
volunteers
All volunteers MUST register and be approved through LISD and have a scheduled volunteer assignment. If you would like to volunteer, please complete the Volunteer Registration. You must update your registration every school year.
Volunteers must enter and exit through the main entrance. Please bring your government issued ID every time you come to volunteer.
Volunteers must stay in the approved volunteer locations on campus.
Please do not go to other areas or to teacher classrooms.
Item drop offs
If your child forgot something essential or you need to drop something off on campus, you will need to email your child’s teacher BEFORE dropping the item off at the front office. When you arrive, fill out the provided blue Item Drop-Off note and leave the item on top of the lunchbox cubbies.
***Teachers are only asked to check their emails twice a day and send students down at that time.
Lunch drop-offs should be here at least 15 minutes prior to the student lunch start time. Please fill out the blue Item Drop-Off form and leave the lunch in the appropriate grade-level cubby. Student leaders will deliver lunches to the cafeteria at lunch time.
birthdays
Birthday celebrations will take place during a time the classroom teacher determines, usually the end of the day. Please provide the teacher 48-hour notice in order for us to communicate with parents of students with dietary restrictions.
We encourage parents to celebrate their child’s birthday with a non-food item.
We have a variety of food allergies on our campus, and in an effort to keep our children safe and honor individual family preferences, we try to stay away from dessert treats.
Some examples of non-food items are, but not limited to: pencils, erasers, donate a book in your child’s name to classroom library, trinkets, etc.
We will make your child feel special at school, we promise!
Lost and found
Our lost and found is located in our cafeteria. Students can check the lost and found daily during their cafeteria time or another time designated by the teacher.
Parents can come up to school to check the lost and found after 3:00 PM on regular school days.
**If you put your child's first and last name on items, we will do our best to help return them if it’s found and turned in.**
You will receive an email from your child’s teacher at 1 PM on Monday, August 12.
Bring school supplies to drop off in the classroom.
1st Day supplies will be delivered to your child’s room prior to that night.
