Option #1: Attend a makeup lab session in your language

    • First, find a makeup lab time that works for you on the schedule below
      1. Link - Times to be posted the second week of classes
    • Second, arrive with your permission from your professor on hand
    • Lastly, actively participate in the makeup lab

Option #2: Chat with a partner or play a game with a partner over Zoom/FacetimeThis partner can be someone in your class or someone you know with knowledge of the target language you are learning. You'll CHAT or PLAY with them for at least 15-20 minutes and you must record the session using the record button (Zoom) or using the voice record app on your phone. Our expectation is for you to use as much of your language as possible! The recording WILL be reviewed to make sure you are staying in the target language!

What are Can-Do Statements?

What’s the point?

  • Multiple statements that describe certain things YOU can do with language.
  • Set goals for the lab and help you to understand the purpose of the activity.

  • Helps to track your progress
  • Is a way to self assess your skills (Makes it easier to brag about how much you’re learning!)
  • Know the objective for the activity

In the target language, I can:

  • interact at a survival level in some familiar contexts.
  • provide info by answering a few simple questions.
  • express basic preferences or feelings.
