Label an email

  1. Select the email you want to label

Save an email attachment into Drive

Click on Organize to move it to a specific folder.

Pick the folder and select “Move here”

Hover over the attachment & the Drive Icon will appear. Click it.

Gmail Challenge

Your principal sends out lots of important information and you want to be sure you can find this information quickly! Create a new label in gmail called “Principal”. Look in your Gmail inbox and select an email from your principal. Apply this label to the email.

Create another label that is useful to you (ARD Meetings, Parent Communication, Student Communication, Testing Info, etc). Sort 4 more emails into the appropriate labels.

To add an event, click on the day and time of the event; enter a title and click MORE OPTIONS

To add a notification, click ADD NOTIFICATION.

Once you do so, you have the option to change it to EMAIL.

To add someone to the event, click on Guests and then type in email addresses.

Google Drive Folders Cheat Sheet

  • Go to DRIVE > NEW > FOLDER
  • Name the folder and click CREATE
  • Right click on the folder and select SHARE.
  • Enter the names of the people you want to share the folder with.

  • To add documents to the folder, navigate to the document.
  • Right click on the document
  • Select MOVE TO
  • Select the folder and click MOVE

  • To create a new doc/slide/sheet
    • In Drive, Click “New” button
    • Then scroll down and click on type of file you want to create
  • To (re)name doc/slide/sheet
    • Left Click on name box in upper left
    • Update name

Create a Google Classroom

  • Go to classroom.google.com
  • Click the + in the upper right to create or join a class
  • Fill in the name of your class (section is optional). Click CREATE
    • For students’ sake, add your last name, period, and subject to class name
  • Click on SELECT THEME on Right Side and select theme
    • For your sake, make different classes different colors

Invite students to Google Classroom

  • Invite students to your class by clicking the STUDENTS tab, then search for the students you want to invite
  • Check the box next to the name(s) of the students and click INVITE STUDENTS at the bottom
  • You can also have students join your class with a Class Code

Create a Google Classroom assignment

  • Make sure you are in the STREAM
  • Click on the + in the lower right corner and a menu will appear
  • Select CREATE ASSIGNMENT
  • Fill in the Title of the assignment
  • Select a Due Date for the assignment
  • You can add docs from Google Drive by clicking the icon.
  • Use the dropdown menu to select ‘Make a copy of each student’
  • Then click ASSIGN
