Amazon Alexa

Our main goals were;

• to understand how the Amazon Alexa works
• create an Escape Room Game with our own story
• Attempt using the harder way to program the same game

Concepts learned:

-Basics of Alexa App

-Editing and Adjusting Skill Blueprints

-Connecting Alexa to our own apps

One of our first problems was trying to deploy the skill. Kayla easily solved it by filling in some information we were missing.

One of our other major problems was testing our code in the Amazon Developer Console.

Another Major Problem

The Echo Dot itself

• The school wifi would not suffice for the Alexa
• Boot up would take long
• Wouldn’t connect to our phones

Things we accomplished:

• Tweeting from our Alexa
• Creating our own story in Escape Room
• Learned the basics of Alexa’s code, her triggers, and her responses

Would we work on it again?

• There are so many other things we can do with the Alexa.
• Adjust already existing skills to adapt to other problems or instances

Suggestions for others:

• Work with VoiceApps for one day to become familiar with the Alexa and her triggers
• Move on to Amazon Developer
• Have an idea of what you want to do with the Echo Dot
