SUPPLY GAP

Is there evidence of a supply gap in the region?

Supply is the number of awards conferred by postsecondary institutions.

A supply gap suggests there are more annual job openings than degrees awarded.

An oversupply suggests there are more degrees being awarded than annual job openings.

PROGRAM ENDORSEMENT OR NON-ENDORSEMENT

Proceed with New Program (Support Modification)

The COE’s program endorsement or non-endorsement is informed by reviewing labor market demand, educational supply, conducting a supply gap analysis, living wage, and the number of institutions that provide training. Additional LMI may also be considered.

Proceed with Caution

(Support Modification)

Do Not Proceed with

New Program

(COE Defers to the Region)

LMI metrics demonstrate labor market need, and the COE endorses new program/modification.

One or more metrics are important to consider, and the COE encourages a regional discussion.

One or more metrics does not support endorsement for developing a new program.
