Ideas:

  • Classify reuse/recycle/down cycle strategies for cans
  • Co-design elements with children
  • Minimal affected cans (cut the top and bottom and use cylinders as “speakers”, vases or other elements simple to transform into educating elements for the children

Why I joined:�We are working with wastes and recycling since 2014. We believe that fablabs must be self sustainable and improve their environment. We have experience using fablabs machines to produce “good things from waste”.��Current Idea:�Thinking about making aluminum joints to build different kinds of orthopedic items. Currently designing in 3D (using Freecad).

Excited to learn about fabrication with melted metals. We already have an small electrical foundry but we have still almost not use it.

Why I Joined:

  • Inquisitive to explore, learn and develop skill
  • The event is first of its kind in Bhutan, so want to experience it.

Current Idea:

  • To make a braille or something like a structure of alphabets so that vision impairment students can feel the structure and learn.
  • To make a ramp, as upon visiting SEN School, we observed that for some of the student there is a need for ramp as they seems to have difficulties to walk over through the steps.

BrailleRAP: Opensource Assistive device designed for low-cost and replicability based on RepRap 3D printers. Introduced via GOSH Community Calls; BrailleSP and BrailleRap.org��Augmenting the Aluminium objects and other reuse ideas with 3D printable designs, prototyping and testing to bring students, makers, users and caregivers into the co-creation process.

Other ideas:

Aluminum powder infused 3D printing filament?�Limitations and capabilities of producing / recycling both: plastic and aluminum? �Maybe linkup with Fab22 Challenge PrinTRIDI / precious plastics?�Aluminum nano powder would also be useful in production of Hydrogen – link up with Cesars BaliFabFest Prototype?

  • To bring the FabLab to the delivery of STEAM education at local SEN schools, utilizing the time while the FabLab remains idle. That will fill in the gap of the shortage of STEAM teachers and also contribute to the revenue of the lab.
