Antonio Gordillo FabLab Smart Open Lab (SOL) (Spain)
Why I joined:We are working with wastes and recycling since 2014. We believe that fablabs must be self sustainable and improve their environment. We have experience using fablabs machines to produce “good things from waste”.Current Idea:Thinking about making aluminum joints to build different kinds of orthopedic items. Currently designing in 3D (using Freecad).
Excited to learn about fabrication with melted metals. We already have an small electrical foundry but we have still almost not use it.

Why I joined:I manage innovation & entrepreneurship programs that oversee/articulate with innovation parks, makerspaces and fablabs. I believe bizdev and tech people can co-exist, collaborate and work happily on the same planet. Current Idea:Thinking about making self-sufficient dressing stands for SEN students…
(That would also be nice to have for myself!)
Why I joined:Working with Persons with Disabilities to co-create assistive devices using participatory design, 3D printing, and Critical Making. Current Idea(s):
BrailleRAP: Opensource Assistive device designed for low-cost and replicability based on RepRap 3D printers. Introduced via GOSH Community Calls; BrailleSP and BrailleRap.orgAugmenting the Aluminium objects and other reuse ideas with 3D printable designs, prototyping and testing to bring students, makers, users and caregivers into the co-creation process.
Other ideas:
Aluminum powder infused 3D printing filament?Limitations and capabilities of producing / recycling both: plastic and aluminum? Maybe linkup with Fab22 Challenge PrinTRIDI / precious plastics?Aluminum nano powder would also be useful in production of Hydrogen – link up with Cesars BaliFabFest Prototype?
Enrico Bassi - FabCare
Why I joined:
I do believe that digital fabrication and codesign are powerful tools to improve people’s quality of life. Even more when it is about people with disabilities.
Current Idea:
make a library of solutions (online and in the lab), do a training program for teachers and university students, define the possible service and how to scale it up.
